There are many ventures that have started small that have ventured great heights. What makes anything or anybody great is not the quantity but rather the quality. In many respects life is what we make it. Let me briefly state three things today I think will eventually dictate the success in our life
- Our Attitude: It is our personal attitude that will define the level of satisfaction. Our attitude will determine our altitude.
- Our Attractions: This is the state of the mind which will eventually help us choose who we will be.
- Our Actions: This will eventually reveal the true personality. Actions speaks louder than words.
Looking through the word of God, we see how God in the old and the new testament, is an excellent source of encouragement. In the book of Zechariah 4:10. "Do not despise the days of small things" . Jesus said in Matthew 13:31 and 32, the potential of small things. Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.
There are at least 3 principles in this parable.
- The man took . . .Take the small thing you have . .do not despise
- He sowed in his field. He invested, not in some other field, but in his field
- It began to grow.
Let us take what has been given to us and prepare the field of our hearts and sow the seed and wait patiently for the growth. It shall become a tree and also a source of shade and shield for others, for we are all called for good works.
